Synopsis :
In Beatrice Prior's
dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each
dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue--Candor (the
honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the
peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every
year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will
devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between
staying with her family and being who she really is--she can't have
both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.
During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles alongside her fellow initiates to live out the choice they have made. Together they must undergo extreme physical tests of endurance and intense psychological simulations, some with devastating consequences. As initiation transforms them all, Tris must determine who her friends really are--and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes exasperating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers unrest and growing conflict that threaten to unravel her seemingly perfect society, Tris also learns that her secret might help her save the ones she loves . . . or it might destroy her

Review :
So here goes, I read
this, because in my Goodreads Account, Allegiant is one of the winner in
Goodreads choice award, so I want to know, the series that won the Goodreads
award.
There's a review that
I read that said, it's a copycat of The Hunger Games,
Well I read Hunger
Games trilogy first, and I do believe that Divergent isn't one of Hunger Games
wannabes.
Maybe both series have similarity, about the life of a
heroine in the world that divide her into categories (In Divergent, is the Faction,
while in The Hunger Games, is the territory), she tries to break free with the
help of her partner, a boy, and they fall in love along the way.
The storyline is quite
good. The pace not too fast but not too slows either. And the chemistry of
romance between Beatrice and Four are built well, not just some random
encounters with good looking boy and we ought to bed (well there's some scene
which include beds, but not the "sexual" thing) and after that the
heroine madly in love with the boy. The romance and the main storyline about
Tris being a Divergent that can be categorized as member of multiple factions is
proportionally written well.
As the first of the series, Ms Roth, takes her reader to
explore Beatrice or Tris’s world, she explains all the Factions and their
characteristic. And as the story goes, she built conflict between one of the
faction that later became the main plot of this series.
I do enjoy Mrs. Roth’s way of storytelling, how the event
unfold one by one, the conflict building up, or the way Tris handled her
emotion in her own teenager emotionally way (like when she can be so brave
while fighting for her boyfriend, or she can be so silly while running away
from the Faction just because his boyfriend ignores her) I can say that this
book is include in my book list as ‘The Book that I read every pages without
skipping a page” LOL
My Rate : Ж Ж

Just a little bonus, I just know that Divergent is going to be
filmed. So I give you, the trailer of Divergent. Just one comment from me, The
cast is waaaaayyyyy too old. Divergent is a teenage story (Tris is 14, and Four
is 18) and don’t forget Eric, how come Eric became some kind of Russian Guy??
Well I just wait for the movie to be released in here, so I
can write review about it.
